An inspired drive supported by a resolve and spirit that is seemingly unbreakable. Pride doesn’t even begin to cover the emotion and support I have for you Sebastian. You never give up, you never fall short, you never stop pushing whatever the conditions of both the day and the car. You don’t deserve the luck you’re having, but you do deserve the wisdom you are gathering, and so much more is to come for you Champ. Thank you for making us so proud, for being so good at what you do, for inspiring us and for carrying on. The next victory is going to taste so sweet.
Man, after the season Seb has been having so far this year, I really thought karma may just come around and deliver us some good news at my personal fav track, Spa. So far that hasn’t gone to plan.
My admiration and support for Sebastian only grows with every set back and unforeseen issue. His resilience and spirit to fight on and stay as focussed and passionate as he has ever been is endlessly inspiring to me, and like I’ve said before, will lead him to taste champagne many more times, and to hold his head high as World Champion a few more times too.
Clearly it’s looking like Mercedes year, and I have only respect for their incredible efforts. My greatest hope is that we can meet them and fight them hard for the remainder of this season, and bring them a true challenge next year.
I don’t want to think about Seb not being champion any more next year, only focus on the positives, and the biggest positive for me is everything this struggle is adding to him as both a driver and a person. He is only getting better. And soon, he will shine again, and we’ll all be here to see and enjoy.
In the meantime, hang in there Seb, and know we are endless in our love and support of our driver and our champ.
summer break meme | day 5: the best of the drivers’ press conference
5. Sebastian, Bernie Ecclestone said to the German Bild Zeitung that despite you already having won two titles and maybe now a third, you miss out on charisma, compared to former drivers such as Hunt, Senna, Lauda. And he also said that not only you but all the drivers of your generation are more or less in the same situation, because, he said, teams pampered you too much and the FIA put muscle to you, so you are not free to explain yourselves. What do you think about that?
